Juicing Is It Actually Healthy

Juicing Is It Actually Healthy
Jordan: Hi, I'm Jordan Rubin, CEO of draxe.Com,
bringing you Ancient Medicine Today, where we help answer all your health questions,
and here is the health question we commonly get. Juicing, is it healthy? It may be the rage. It may be a way to get nutrients from fruits
and vegetables, but is it actually healthy? We're going to answer that and more on today's
episode of Ancient Medicine Today. And if you know someone who juices, all the
time, you're in their house and you see all the fruits and vegetables, and they say juice
is the greatest, and they're buying juice, and they're making juice, and they're at juice
bars.

They need to hear this. In fact, juice bars seem to be popping up
everywhere. There's a juice bar here, there's a juice
bar there, but is juicing all it's cracked up to be? We're going to get into that right now. What are the pros of juicing? Easily consumable fruits and vegetables.

That's huge. We all know that fruits and vegetables are
good for you, and juicing is a quick and easy way to get multiple servings in a concentrated
form. You can also easily absorb the nutrients. When you juice fruits and vegetables, they
are in a serum soluble form.

That means that they're in a liquid form that
your body can use quickly and easily. Let's understand, when you eat food or drink
a beverage, your body brings it into solution, it liquefies it no matter what. When you remove the fiber, juice already has
done the work for you, so separating the juice from the pulp makes nutrients easily absorbable,
and this is great when it reduces produce waste. You know that when farmers grow fruits and
vegetables and they don't look perfectly, a lot of times they get wasted.

See, we absolutely require, these days, a
tomato to be perfectly round and red, and orange has to be with no blemishes, apples
have to be perfect. That's not really how foods grow. In fact, I like heirloom fruits and vegetables. In fact, the uglier the better.

I was one day thinking about writing a book
on heirloom foods calling it the ugly diet. Eat ugly food. U-G-L-Y, now, you've got an alibi. I digress.

We're talking about juicing here. We're talking about fruits and vegetables. When you juice or allow your fruits and vegetables
to be juiced, you reduce waste. And if you use the fiber in other recipes,
even better.

So those are the pros of juicing, they're
really good pros, but there are some cons of juicing. Number one, despite popular belief, juicing
alone won't help you lose weight. Number two, if you juice fruits or sweet veggies,
such as carrots and beet, it's a lot of sugar, and it's in your bloodstream immediately. Do you know that carrot juice could contain
up to 30 grams of sugar per serving? Sure, it's carrot juice.

Sure, it's got vitamins and minerals but it's
still has a lot of sugar. What do you do if you love juice? Add some fat, maybe some fiber back. You know, when you consume carrot juice in
Europe, they add cream to it because it helps absorb the nutrients and slow down the sugar
rush. Your body doesn't really need juice.

In fact, if you look throughout history, there
are only a few juices people consumed, and it would be grape juice in the form of wine,
and the fermentation removes the sugar. You don't need to juice, but if you don't
get enough fruits and veggies certainly there's a good reason to do it. Why would juicing be an issue? Because it's missing the fiber. Fruits and vegetables were made to have fiber.

You need fiber, so juicing can be a challenge
by stripping the fiber and overloading your body with sugar. So, let's get into some of the details. What's the verdict here? Good and bad? Juices can be both. What you're looking at right here, smoothie,
probably good, maybe some fiber in it.

Orange Juice? Thirty-plus grams of sugar, especially if
it's pasteurized. I know people think orange juice is so good
for them. I would argue with that. Make juices a part of your diet, not the main
course.

If you do juice, vegetables first, fruits
later. When you look at these juices you buy in the
store today, they're almost always full of fruit, such as apple juice, which is not all
it's cracked up to be, especially if it's pasteurized. If you're buying juice or making it, it's
got 20, 25, 30 grams of sugar per serving, that's a challenge for most people. So heavy on the greens, light on the fruit,
may not taste as good but it will be good.

In fact, the juice that I like is a combination
of celery juice and parsley, and then, I blend up cucumber and mix it, so you've got some
of the fiber, some of the juice, really, really good and powerful greens. If you replace a meal with juice, limit it
to few times a week, so you get the bulk of nutrients you need including fiber. Juice can be a challenge for your blood sugar. If you want a detox, instead of immediately
going on a juice cleanse, remove the junk from your dietary trunk.

You can also consume broth as a detoxing beverage,
which gives great nutrients such as minerals but without the sugar. All right. Is juicing actually healthy? The benefits, get your daily fruits and vegetables,
everyone agrees that's really good, easily absorbable nutrients, and you reduce waste. What are the cons? It may not help you lose weight.

Usually loaded with sugar. Your body doesn't technically need juice,
you need vegetables, not juice and it's missing fiber. Bottom line folks, if you know somebody who
is a juice junkie, that didn't sound . .

. Juice healthy, they like juice, they buy juice,
they make juice, they clean up after juice, they tell you that you have to juice, or if
you know somebody who really wants to understand the skinny on juicing, share this video with

Jen Tries To Be Super Healthy For 24 Hours Ladylike

Jen Tries To
(Slurping noise) (coughs) - I think this is bad for me. (Laughs) Like a lot of young people, I think I take my health for granted. I don't get enough sleep, my diet relies too heavily
on grilled cheeses, and I spend a lot of my
work days sitting on my ass. Recently I went to the doctor, and I found out that I'm anemic.

What that means is I
have an iron deficiency, so there's not enough iron in
my blood and it's a possible explanation for why I
don't have a lot of energy. The iron deficiency in itself is fine, I am taking iron supplements
and I should be totally okay. I am okay, but it was
kind of a wake up call. I want to make a change and
that's why I'm attempting to live the healthiest
day ever.

Cue fireworks. (Fireworks popping) This day is going to
serve as a crash course, where I spend all of
it doing healthy things that I want to make habits. Now what actually
constitutes "healthy habits" varies a little bit depending
on your source, which is why I'm using the greatest
source of all, buzzfeed.Com. I found a couple Buzzfeed articles that list a bunch of healthy recipes.

I found articles with charts
that tell you how much sleep you can have, how much
water you need to drink. I'm gonna be using those articles to inform everything I do tomorrow. I'm gonna make sure I get enough
sleep. I'm gonna make sure I'm eating healthy and I drink
enough water.

I'm gonna make sure that I'm exercising and
then I'm also gonna make sure that I'm taking care of my mind
and my emotional well being. Look me in the eyes. Get
used to this, this smile. The smile of a healthy person.

Alright friends, so I'm gonna kick off my day of healthy living tomorrow. But to start it off, I gotta
get a good night's sleep. So according to the
National Sleep Foundation, as found in a Buzzfeed article, I should be getting seven
to nine hours of sleep. So it is currently 10:30 p.M.

And I'm going to go to bed and then we'll be rocking
a full eight hours. (Happy music) Alright, it's early in the
morning and I'm whispering because I don't want
to wake up my roommate. My hair looks crazy but yeah. If you did, get up early
if you want to go for a run in Los Angeles, because
by the time it's 8 a.M.

It's already really hot. Exercise. This is the part
I'm least looking forward to. I used to be a pretty active
runner.

I'd probably go for a two mile run every
day, if not every other day. That has not been true since I graduated. It's 6:30 in the morning
and it's 67 degrees already so I'm in workout clothes and I am going to go for a run for probably the first
time in a year and a half. So I'm proud of myself
'cause I just got back.

I ran about two and a half
miles and I actually ran it. I only stopped to walk the last two blocks 'cause they were uphill, but
I feel like if I do this again I would be able to power through. Also I just rewatched the
footage of me jogging. I look and sound like a
fucking dying seagull.

During my healthy day, I'm gonna try and drink eight cups of water. I know when it comes to water,
I need to drink way more. So I'm at Trader Joe's and I'm
picking out the ingredients, based on a Buzzfeed
article, so that I can have a healthy breakfast and a healthy lunch. I got to work a little bit early so I'm actually not going to be late, which is very healthy even
though it was unplanned.

So I made it to the office.
I'm gonna eat breakfast here, I'm gonna do some work, I'm
gonna try and stay active during the day. Gotta drink more water. This day is just sort of going
to be a test to figure out how purposeful I can be
with choosing healthy foods. According to Buzzfeed,
the healthy breakfast I'm going to have is an
easy yogurt overnight oat.

I have my yogurt, flaxseed, and raspberry delight right here. I just keep having to go the
bathroom because I'm drinking so much damn water and I don't like it. I have to fucking pee again in an hour. It is lunch time.

So I
found a Buzzfeed article that gave a recipe for an
avocado egg veggie sandwich, which sounds delicious but
unfortunately I'm at the office and I don't have access to a stove, so I'm not gonna use the egg
but I am going to include all the veggies and the avocado. We have a setback for my healthy day because I fucked up a little bit. What's wrong with that avocado?
Why can't I use it, Kristin? - It's green and it's hard. (Trumpet deflating)
- What does that even mean? - It's gonna be like cutting
into a bowling ball, my friend.

- Kristin's also going to make a sandwich 'cause we're sandwich girls. - Yeah, also I saw that
Jen had sandwich fixings and I was like, "Yup." - She's a-fixing for my sandwich. That's a lunchtime sandwich, baby. - It has a little hat.

- I can't wait to eat it. - Am I just gonna film you eating lunch? - I ate my whole sandwich. We had a good sandwich
time. Right, Kristin? - It was a great sandwich time.

- On my healthy day, I'm
actually gonna try and slow down, and take specific time
to check in with myself. I found a Buzzfeed video that
said when you're working, every half hour to hour you should get up and walk around for a few minutes. So I'm gonna incorporate
that into my work day. I'm just going for a little bit of a walk, just to get the blood flowing.

And I meditated for a bit after lunch, just set aside 20 minutes just
so I could sit, be peaceful. Things are going okay. This water thing is really
pissing me off though. I was finishing up a cup of water and earlier my allergies
had been acting up so I blew my nose, and when
I was drinking that water I realized there was a used
tissue at the bottom of it that I didn't know was in there.

So that's fucking disgusting. (Laughs) After work, I'm gonna eat a healthy dinner and then I'm gonna go
to my friend's art show, and I think that it'll be
a really good way to just be at peace, and be thoughtful, and be with people I care about. When it comes to mental
health on the healthy day, I'm gonna be as introspective as I can. So now I'm out to dinner with friends, I didn't get anything 'cause
I'm gonna cook dinner at home, but I have been drinking my water and I did have to go to
the fucking bathroom again.

This is part of me trying to
make sure that I'm taking care of myself, but spending time
with people I care about. This salmon recipe looks
really good, pretty simple. I'm gonna make this for dinner. My healthy day is less about
whether I'll feel 100% better after one day of being healthy,
and it's more about testing how easy it is to incorporate
these habits into my life, to see if they're things
that I could actually see myself doing every day going forward.

The whole day was a little bit exhausting, just to keep track of the
things that I needed to do. It was hard to remember
to drink all that water, and then it was annoying to have to go to the bathroom all the time. It was also really
frustrating just to keep having my workday
interrupted, but honestly I felt really good the entire day. I felt really energized
'cause I got enough sleep, I really enjoyed most of the meals I had, and the best part was I felt
really calm throughout the day, and I'm generally like a
person that's running around.

I just felt calm, I didn't
feel scared or anxious or anything, and then
seeing my friends at night just was the cherry on
top because it was, like, hey, this is a great way to cap off a day. So it's good to be able
to see your friends and support them and
feel supported by them, that's like a powerful way to end the day. I also think that introducing
some of these elements and making sure that I try to
exercise a little bit more, maybe not every day but
maybe every other day, will be pretty helpful
for me going forward. A healthy day, lady tested, lady probably healthier.

Maybe. (Upbeat music).

Is Rebound Sex Healthy

Is Rebound Sex Healthy
According to refinery29, if you're
gonna have rebound sex after a breakup, you need to make sure you're doing it for
the right reasons you guys. They say if you're just trying
to get back at your ex or trying to escape your emotions,
rebound sex can actually make things worse.
>> Mm-hm. >> They say rebound sex should really be about
reconnecting with your sexuality. So ladies, do you think rebound sex is
a fool proof way to get over someone or just plain foolish?
>> Wait a minute, wait a minute, what is rebound sex, cuz I be having sex, I don't care.

>> [LAUGH]
>> I know. >> I know, I saw your face. >> But that's exactly right. You're having sex in a different position.

It's if you've just gotten your heart broken or you've just gotten
out of a major relationship. [CROSSTALK] >> Which for me, I personally- >> That's what that's called? >> Yes. >> I just thought it was having a good time.
>> It is, it is, it is having a good time. >> [APPLAUSE] >> Okay.

>> I personally if I was doing it just to have a good time girl, I'm right there
with you, I can have a good time, but if I am doing it to get over somebody,
I don't feel in my heart I can do that. >> Since we're having revelations today- >> Yes >> You're newly divorced, have you had rebound sex? >> [LAUGH] >> No.
No. Actually, and even Adrienne and i have talked about this,
I haven't had sex just to get over that, because-
>> But you've had sex.
>> Have you had full- >> What is happening here? >> What are we doing? >> Have you fooled around? >> Yeah, you have fulled around. >> Right.

>> [LAUGH] >> [APPLAUSE] >> Come on- >> [CROSSTALK] >> My point is, when it comes to rebound sex-
>> Just give me a sip of my tea. >> [CROSSTALK] >> Why you getting all hot and bothered? Why you getting hot?
>> Look, I'm just saying- >> She's thinking about it. >> No. >> So you're saying there's a chance.
>> [LAUGH] >> No, I think women are very sensitive when it comes to their emotions.

>> Yes.
>> Yeah. >> I think, yes you can have sex-
>> She slid through that one. >> [CROSSTALK] >> [LAUGH]
>> All right- >> Don't be sliding anywhere. >> [LAUGH] >> But I just am careful about having sex just to get over
something, because you're only messing with yourself at the end of the day.
>> The only way to get over something is to get over it.

>> [APPLAUSE] >> Yeah.
>> In the proper time. >> Thank you. >> But I'm gonna tell you, if you have feelings for
somebody, seriously, sex is not gonna change that.
>> No. >> You know what I mean? I mean [INAUDIBLE]
>> It might make it worse.

>> Yeah, because then you start comparing.
>> Yes. >> And I'm like, my god!
>> Yes. >> He doesn't do it like he does. >> [LAUGH] >> And let me tell you sometimes you can end up playing yourself hard core
>> [INAUDIBLE] >> Like for instance, let's say a guy doesn't want to be with
you, he's like I'm unsure about us, we should take a break, right? And then you go and
you sleep with someone else, right? Right away,
thinking I'm gonna get him back, whatever, right?
>> And then he finds out that literally when
you guys weren't together, you went and slept with somebody else.
>> Yeah.

>> What if that dude is like, thank God I stayed away from that girl, she's out here just being loose.
>> Yep. >> And that actually can mess up chances with a guy that you really-
>> Man, okay, that's a little different. That's your personal preference.
>> That can actually make the guy that you wanted to end
up with look at you differently as well.
>> No, I look at him differently if he out
there hoe'ing so it don't matter. [APPLAUSE]
>> He shouldn't be out there hoe'ing..

How to Cook Healthy Food! 10 Breakfast Ideas,Lunch Ideas & Snacks for School, Work!

How to Cook Healthy Food! 10 Breakfast Ideas,Lunch Ideas & Snacks for School, Work!
In this video, I'll show you ten quick and healthy breakfast and lunch ideas for school or work These recipes are perfect for days when you're running
late and you want to have something nutritious to eat and tasty on the go. Hey Mom! I'm good! I just got back from school and now I'm eating some lunch. Oh... You know just some potatoes and bread and then some tomatoes and some cheese.

Yeah, pretty balanced! Oh mom, can you take me to the dance class I have it at 5. Ok great! See you then. Bye Mom? You know, never mind... I'm not going to the dance class today.

No, I feel really sick. I don't know, maybe the potatoes were rotten. I don't know... Yeah, I'm just gonna rest.

Ok. See you, bye! I should really start eating healthier... Let's do this! Hey loves! I'm super excited about today's
video because it was requested a lot and I've never filmed something like that before. I'm
going to show you 10 healthy breakfast and lunch ideas for back to school.

These are
all very easy and quick to make - you can make them the night before and then in the
morning you just grab breakfast and lunch and you're good to go. I hope you guys are
excited and let's get started. Let's start with 5 delicious and healthy breakfast
ideas! First we are making these delicious oatmeal cookies. You need just two ingredients
to make them: One cup of oats and 2 ripe bananas.

Peel and then mush the bananas with a fork
until you get that runny consistency. Put it into a bowl and add your oats. Mix it well
with a spoon and you can totally finish here or you can add some more ingredients for a
fuller taste. I like to pop in some cinnamon.

You can mix in chocolate chips, nuts, raisins
whatever you prefer. Take a parchment lined baking tray and place on the mixture in little
piles like this. I am going to flatten the top with a spoon, to make them look more like
cookies. I like to decorate mine with some dried blueberries and cranberries.

You could
have just mixed this into the cookie mixture, but I like how the cookies look with the dried
fruit on top. Put your cookies in the oven at 350 Fahrenheit for 15 minutes. Here they
are all done, smelling delicious! Put them in an air tight container and you have a great
breakfast on the go ready. You can make these on the weekend and they will last you for
the entire week.

When you are running late for school you can just grab a couple of cookies
and you're out the door. A perfect way to get a nutritious and super tasty breakfast
on the go. I also love how you can tailor this recipe by mixing in the ingredients you
like. Another great breakfast to go idea is a yogurt
and fruit in a cone! Take an ice cream cone and ignore me pretending to be a unicorn.
Put some fruit in the cone like that, I have some blueberries, which you guys know I am
obsessed with.

Take a big spoon of yogurt. I like using Greek version because it's thicker
and also richer in protein than the usual one. Put it on the cone just like ice cream
and then top it off with some more fruit. I have blueberries and strawberries.

Voila,
a minute breakfast that you can eat on your way to school. This breakfast is so yummy
and it also looks adorable, right? I know that the cone contains sugar but you get your
protein from yogurt and benefits from fruit so from time to time I think this is a great
breakfast or a snack to have. Cheers! Cheers with a blueberry shot... If you like fruit as much as I do then you
will love the next idea which is a fruit salad in a jar.

Basically you just want to cut small
pieces of different fruits of your choice and put those in the jar.
Today I found in the fridge some pineapple, which is one of my favorite fruits and is
also a great source of vitamins C and B. Then I also have some strawberries, because who
doesn't love strawberries right. Here I have some clementines too. And no I don't know
how to juggle.

To me clementines are such a christmassy food. The markets are full of
this yummy fruit in November and December. In the jar I first popped some red currants,
pineapple, then blueberries, strawberries and clementines. There you go - an easy and
nutritious breakfast for school or work! You can make this fruit salad the evening before
and in the morning you have a delicious breakfast waiting for you.

This next one is probably my favorite breakfast
in the bunch  delicious granola bars with nuts, fruit and chocolate chips! You need
chopped cashews, pumpkin seeds, chopped almonds, cranberries, puffed rice, dark chocolate chunks,
flax seeds and a pinch of salt. Give it a little mix and then in a separate bowl combine
one table spoon of almond or peanut butter and a quarter of a cup of rice syrup. Stir
those two together until you have a nice even mixture and then pour it into the bowl with
nuts and seeds. Mix well until all the ingredients are nicely incorporated, like that.

Put the
mixture on a smaller parchment lined baking sheet. Flat it down really well to assure
there are no free spaces in the mix. Pop it in the oven and bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit
for about 20 minutes. You can cut your bars when the mixture is still hot or you can wait
for them to cool down.

These granola bars are seriously delicious! You can store them
in an air tight container so they remain fresh and crispy. Or you can put your bar in a little
plastic bag and you can have it as a snack during the day. The granola bars that you
buy in a shop are usually packed with sugar and other unhealthy stuff. With this homemade
bars you know what you put in and you can always adjust the recipe to your liking! When you have more time before your classes
start you can make this breakfast, which is just as yummy as it is pretty to look at!
For the pepper eggs, first cut two slices of pepper, which should be about half an inch
thick.

Place them in a frying pan and beat one egg into each pepper ring. See how cool
this looks already!? Add a pinch of salt or any other seasoning of your choice. While
the eggs are cooking I am going to make some fruit kebabs, because I want this breakfast
to be extra picture worthy! Take the fruits of your choice and cut them into pieces. Here
I have some strawberries, a kiwi, a banana and blueberries.

If you love blueberries,
Norway is definitely the place to live. If you follow me on Instagram you know that.
I've been picking so much blueberries this year, they were literally everywhere! Here
you go, how adorable are these and of course tasty and healthy too! I love them. When the
eggs are done, carefully put them on a plate. And as a side we have our pretty fruit kebabs.
This breakfast is just delicious, nutritious and totally Instagram worthy.

I mean come
on, don't deny it, I know you do it to. We're all guilty here. No but seriously, I think
this is a great breakfast for when you have a bit more time and you want to eat something
healthy, but also have fun preparing it. Breakfast for champs for sure! Now let's move on to the lunch portion of
this video! First we are making some healthy egg muffins with veggies.

Beat three eggs
into a mixing bowl. Take your hand mixer and whisk the eggs. While doing that add about
a deciliter of milk and one or two table spoons of flour. I am using almond milk and buckwheat
flour, but any milk and flour will do.

Pour the mixture into the muffin form. Since I
have the silicone form I don't have to use the paper muffin cups. But go ahead and use
those if you have them. Leave the muffins aside for a minute and cut the veggies of
your choice into small pieces.

I have some pepper, tomato and a zucchini. You can also
put in mushrooms, carrots, spinach or any other vegetables of your choice. Throw the
veggie pieces into the muffin mixture  as much or as little as you like. I like to be
quite generous with vegetables so I am putting in loads of them.

Put the muffins in the oven
and bake at about 320 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes. These muffins are so yummy and
healthy and you can have them hot or cold. Make them the day before and then take them
to school or work. I added some grapes, goji berries and almonds to my lunch box as well.
The egg muffins are also nice as a little snack at home.

In the fridge they will last
you up to 3 to 4 days. A tasty and nutritious lunch for school. A great lunch idea on the go is a salad in
a jar. The options here are endless so use whatever salad you like or happen to have
in the fridge.

I'm going to use some cherry tomatoes  these are so sweet and good.
I also like to add a lot of peppers, I have a yellow and an orange one. I will also add
some cucumber to my salad. Finally I am cutting some feta cheese cubes and now it's time to
throw all of that goodness into a jar! You can make this salad the day before school
and then just grab it in the morning. Especially if you are not using leafy greens in your
salad like me.

Drizzle with a bit of olive oil and a splash of lemon juice for the dressing.
You can throw this salad in your school bag and have it ready for when your tummy gets
hungry. I eat salad for lunch almost every day and I love how it fills you up but it
is also a light meal. Heavy lunches sometimes make me feel tired and without energy for
the rest of the day. A nice salad like this will instead make you feel refreshed and full
of energy.

Next we're making this delicious spelt bread
sandwich! I am going to show you how I make the most tasty and quick bread from scratch.
Put five hundred grams of spelt flour into a bowl. I am using a mix of finely and coarsely
ground flour. Add a tablespoon of baking soda, a teaspoon of sugar, I am using coconut sugar,
a pinch of salt, two table spoons of olive oil, juice of half a lemon and 5,5 deciliters
of water. Mix this thoroughly until all the ingredients are evenly combined.

Pour the
mixture into a bread form. Sprinkle with some sunflower seeds and put it in the oven. Bake
for an hour at 320 degrees Fahrenheit. This bread only takes 10 minutes of your time and
is just so much healthier than the ones you buy in a supermarket, which normally have
too much salt added plus all the preservatives and other nasty stuff.

Since I learned this
recipe from my boyfriend's mom almost a year ago, I never bought bread again, trust me.
I always bake it myself. Cut two slices of bread and make yourself a nice tasty sandwich.
I like to spread some butter on one piece and then add some lettuce, turkey slices,
tomatoes and mozzarella cheese plus pickles which are like my favorite thing in the whole
world. And that's it, a delicious spelt bread sandwich. Into my lunch box I also added some
red currants and blueberries.

A super tasty lunch for school or work. Yum yum. And here
you have an example of an epic fail while filming. Anyway this was my healthier twist
on a sandwich that you really need to try! Now let's make a little lunchable or tapas
inspired lunch box.

First I am going to show you how to make these yummy ham rolls. Take
some ham or turkey slices and spread on some brie cheese. Put on a few rocket leaves. Roll
the ham like this and secure it with a toothpick.

These rolls are so tasty, and perfect for
a snack, lunch or even a party. You can make them in advance and store them in a fridge
in an air tight container. In my lunch box I am putting a cracker, three turkey rolls
and then I also decided to add some veggies. So here I am cutting carrots into thin sticks.
Do the same with cucumbers and put all of these vitamins into a lunch box.

We're not
finished yet  here are some dried apricots and cashew nuts. My mouth water while I am
just looking at all of this goodness. This lunch is great for on the go as it contains
so many little snacks that you can have during the day when you get a bit hungry. You can
also add some cherry tomatoes, cheese sticks or whatever you prefer.

If you make yourself
a nice lunch box filled with healthy stuff that you actually love, you definitely won't
be craving a pica or chocolate bars from the vending machine. Lastly we are making a super tasty tuna wrap,
which is just so good, trust me. What you need is some cheese, cherry tomatoes, olives
and pickles all cut into small pieces, plus some canned tuna, mayonnaise and a tortilla.
Put everything into a bowl.. Except the tortilla obviously and mix well.

If you want to make
this healthier you can use the whole wheat tortilla and you can skip the mayo, but I
think this combination is just so good so I am totally having it. No regrets. Put some
mixture in the center of tortilla and wrap it up. You can cut it in half if you want
and see how tasty this looks.

In the box I. Am also adding some strawberries and two pieces
of dark chocolate for the desert. Again, you can prepare this lunch in advance so in the
morning you just grab your lunch box and you are good to go. Another little idea - make
this tuna mixture and instead of putting it in the tortilla use it as a topping for pasta.
You get the most delicious pasta salad ever, and if you want a bit healthier version try
using spelt pasta instead of the usual wheat one.

So good, I promise! These were my ten healthy lunch and breakfast
recipes. I hope you will try them out and will like them as much as I do. Let me know
which recipe is your favorite and don't forget to give the video some love if you want more
tutorials like this. Thank you so much for stopping by, I love you guys and I'll talk
to you soon.

Bye! Eating healthy on the go is not easy. Usually
when in a hurry we end up snacking on chocolate bars, pizza slices and other fast food options.
Take some time today and make yourself a good nutritious breakfast or lunch for tomorrow.
You will feel so much better, fresh and energized... Ready to tackle the world!.

Yeah. No crisps for you. Oh. Don't take all my crisps.

Oh Maggie. What is she doing? Don't be such a naughty naughty bird. Oh. What is Maggie doing with my crisps? Oh.

Oh dear. Oh dear. Crisps. So unhealthy.

Let's give Steve an apple. Yeah. A nice juicy apple. Yummy yummy.

Oh look boys and girls. Maggie's coming back. Has she got my crisps? Hey Maggie. What have you got? A nice healthy apple.

Oh. So Maggie. You haven't got my chocolate for me. But what have you got? A banana.

Yeah. Oh banana. Well. I suppose you're right.

A banana is a better snack than chocolate. I don't want a big fat tummy. No no no. Thanks Maggie.

And anyway, I like bananas. Do you
like bananas? Yeah. Delicious. Great.

But now, I need a drink. And all I've got is well. This fizzy drink and that's not very healthy. No.

It's full of sugar. Oh. I wonder what Maggie will bring me instead. Oh look.

Thanks Maggie. Orange juicy. Great. Hmm.

Delicious. So now. I feel healthy and strong. Ready to go and play hey Maggie.

Let's play let's play. Oh listen. What's that noise? I think Maggie needs my help. Oh Maggie Maggie.

What's the matter? Oh dear. Oh Maggie. Are you okay? No. My tummy hurts.

Oh dear Maggie. Did you eat all of my chocolate? Yeah. My crisps, all of my cakes, all of my fizzy
drink. I'm not surprised you've got a poorly tummy
Maggie.

You should eat more healthily. And so should you. Like me. Bye bye boys and girls.

See you next time. Bye bye. Oh Maggie. Sorry.

Heyyyy. Hey. Did you like that? Yeah? Then please like it, if you love it, you can

Health Nuts Swap Diets With Junk Food Addicts

Health Nuts Swap Diets With Junk Food Addicts
- She's healthier than me. (Rock music) - Ever since I can remember, I have made a conscious effort in my life to have a incredibly
clean and healthy diet. I am vegan and I tend not to eat too much gluten. - Eating food is equal to happiness, so I really need to focus
on eating what I like.

A lot of junk food, usually. - My mom was really into health, and so it's something I grew up with. - I'm sure that when I
start eating healthy, it'll probably, you know, do something magical? I mean if it doesn't, I'm never gonna healthy, so. I think for me it's
gonna be hard mentally.

But physically it's
gonna be harder for you. - [Cameraman] Dun dun dun. - [YB] So literally all my
favorite foods in there. - Okay, pizza.

Oh you put in parentheses, "I can usually eat the whole pizza." "No vegetables on it, hehehehe." (Laughs) So I guess I'm eating a whole pizza. Let's go. - So breakfast smoothie, I like smoothies. Blueberries, kale, banana, wheatgrass powder.

What's wheatgrass? - Wheatgrass is um, it's a grass. - So I'm eating grass. - Yeah. - I think one out of 10, I'll do maybe like eight.

- I think I'm gonna do terrible. (Laughs) (curious music) - So Saturday morning I went to get the smoothie
for my breakfast smoothie. And then I got a wheatgrass shot because they had it. - She's gonna have a wheatgrass shot and then you'll be like, "I can take on the world." - Ugh.

It's like, not good at all. It's like warm grass. - I did the whole Saturday
morning cartoon thing in bed with my Reese's Puffs. Just really, really sugary.

I don't know if I can
eat a whole bowl of this. But it's kind of good. - So it's 11:50 and I finished the smoothie
while I was driving, and I am so hungry. I'm used to very carb heavy breakfast.

So I was getting kinda hangry. - So I went to yoga Saturday afternoon. I was really tired during class. It's as if the sugar from the cereal just rushed to my brain.

And all I wanna do is go
get a giant Green Juice to (bleep) cleanse the
sugar out of my system. - Sky is drinking something healthy. Whatcha drinkin'? (Sad trombone sound) - I cheated, okay? But after dinner I made up for it. I ate a whole bunch of Doritos.

I'm gonna eat so many of these. These are (bleep) amazing. Wow. - Smoothie time.

Oh, it's good. Oh, I thought it was gonna
taste like really bad, but it's really good. I even went hiking with my dog, and I was like feeling good. I was like, "Yeah, I feel
healthy and I have energy!" The only sucky part was
like after I came back home, I was super hungry and, you know, and tired.

But I had to cook again. - I really failed. I failed hard. I'm just gonna admit it.

I should've been better. I should've stuck to the experiment more. But I felt the effects. And, Sunday night dinner, I went through the Burger King drive-thru.

- You are the last person I would imagine to even accept this challenge because of how often we discuss health and how often I see you doing, like, pushups in our backyard. (Laughs) - Hi, can I have a small fries and a Coke? Like I feel, if anyone saw me doing this, it would just ruin my image. French fries and ketchup, I can dig that. But I don't know, like, I don't have a burning desire
to eat the rest of this.

I'm not craving this. I'm craving a Green Juice. - So, we eat the kelp noodles with pesto, salad, some kale. I want other stuff.

I want, like, chicken wings. And I want burgers, pizza, other stuff to go with it. I would prefer it with
just like normal noodles. I think that would be really, really good.

But this is a healthy alternative. (Upbeat music) I'm really glad I did this challenge. It was a really, like I learned a lot. I learned how to cook a little bit.

And I learned about a
lot of other ingredients that I didn't know about. - Like, I've realized
throughout this experience that the food that I eat is so much a part of my identity. And not having it, I feel like I'm not myself. Sweet Chili Doritos are the bomb.

That's all I'm gonna say about that..

Are Eggs Healthy or Unhealthy

Are Eggs Healthy or Unhealthy
- Nutrition information
can be so confusing, and as advanced as we are
medically and scientifically the question remains what foods should we eat to achieve good health? Believe it or not, in the
1950s, sugar was actually touted as an energy and weight loss aid. In the 1990s the fat-free craze took over, and in early 2000 carbs became
the biggest threat of all. When it comes to our overall health, we've been given mixed messages as well. Eggs were once the
villain, and now they're seen as a great protein source.

And it was just a generation ago that tropical oils, including coconut oil, were deemed a serious
risk to hearth health. Doesn't it all seem very hard to swallow? And how do we determine
the health from the hype? So what should we be
putting in our bodies? The two things on the hotplate today? Eggs and coconut oil, and we're joined by cardiologists Doctor Andrew Freeman, and Doctor Michael Miller, coauthors of a controversial new
paper about our diets, who join us with their findings cause what I love is we'll start with eggs. Are they good, are they bad? Some say yes, some say no,
and I love that you two as cardiologists came
together and were looking into foods that we should and shouldn't eat, but the two of you don't even agree on eggs which is fascinating! - Yeah it's an interesting thing. We actually went to
breakfast this morning, Michael and I are friends
but we do have different viewpoints.
- Did you order eggs? He had eggs, I had oatmeal, but what I will tell you is that the U.S.

Dietary Guidelines
for Americans came out just at the end of 2015, and
they now say that you should consume as little cholesterol as possible and the average egg has
about 200 milligrams of cholesterol, so that's one right there. Some very large studies and
some meta-analysis which are studies of studies show
that when you eat more eggs you're more prone to
developing diabetes or worsen diabetes believe it or not. And so it seems that eggs
are the most concentrated source of choline in the American diet, and that choline in some
studies from Harvard appears to be linked to prostate cancer, in other studies seems to
be linked to colon cancer, and there's a whole
body of evidence that's now emerging on all the
different biomarkers and precursors in choline in particular. - Don't we need choline?
- Yeah, exactly.

- [Doctor Stork] I eat
eggs for the choline. (Dr. Freeman laughs)
- I mean some people are seeking choline when they eat
eggs, and then maybe Doctor Miller you can speak to this cause I know you have a differing
view of eggs, and so ... - I have a much different view on eggs, and as it turns out, first
of all the egg whites have a lot of protein, and
vitamins, and really good ...

But it's that yolk that
contains some cholesterol, but what we've come to
appreciate is that the amount of cholesterol in an egg
has been reduced by about fifty percent over the course of the last 30-40 years for a number of reasons. One was the way cholesterol
was measured in eggs was not as accurate as
it appears to be now so in effect the recent
study came out to show that cholesterol content
in an egg is somewhere closer to 150-160, and
that continues to improve. It was about 200 maybe
about 10 years ago, and was close to 300 back in the 1970s, but I think the other important point to consider is the egg yolk,
so you have choline in there. You also have vitamins,
really good vitamins.

- And you're actually
saying choline in there is a good thing but, and that's what ... - [Doctor Miller] So I'm
saying choline is a good thing. - And this is where the, and
so continue cause this is just if you weren't confused enough,
now you're more confused because Doctor Freeman is
saying, "Okay, Choline..." - Well I think it goes back to some of the studies though, right? Because you can cherry-pick
studies sometimes and you can find what you're
looking for and I think there's so much controversy about ... - I would comment though
the choline content in a lot of these foods you
can get choline from a lot of sources, this is a
very concentrated source.

You know, a study out of
Harvard just two-and-a-half eggs per week raises your risk of
prostate cancer by 80 percent so wouldn't you want to get choline from something else in a lot
less concentrated source? - There are other studies that
don't show the same thing. - I was gonna say that I think
that's my concern is because I feel like as physicians
we try to keep up with all of the journals, and
we read but it seems like every month there's a new
study that comes out that might contradict a different one. - The big pincher is The World
Health Organization right? I see them as sort of the
body of the bodies right, and so they have done
surveys and analysis. The last one was of 34
countries, and they show that people who consume
large amounts of choline typically in the form of
eggs have much more cancer, particularly colorectal cancer.

- Back to you Doctor Miller, we'll have a little back and forth here. - So the egg yolk also helps
to improve both our vision, so eye health, brain health, and choline is a mood enhancer so there are a number of factors that in effect promote good health with eggs in moderation..

10 WAYS TO GET HEALTHY + FIT 2018! Fitness DIYs, Life Hacks + Recipes!

10 WAYS TO
Hey guys It's Sarah! Welcome back to my channel and welcome to my very first video of 2018 2018 is still an awkward year for me comment if you guys are planning on being awkward in 2018 apparently I can't help. It so in this video I put together a bunch of like tips and tricks and life hacks So you guys can have a super healthy 2018 also in the comments, Let me know What kind of device you guys watch YouTube videos on because I think people watch youtube videos on their phone But let me know if your watching it on a phone or tablet or computer or any other device And giving the video a thumbs up if you guys like it you haven't yet subscribed make sure to hit subscribe I post new videos every Single week, and also if you guys want to follow me on Instagram this is it right here, come say hey. But anyway lets get in to the video. So one of the easiest ways to switch up your health routine and get super fit and healthy for 2018 is definitely to just Improve your diet, and I'm not saying by tomorrow You got to be eaten only broccoli and only fruit and vegetables But a super easy thing to do is just open up your fridge and think about next time you go to the supermarket what you could swap something out for so for me I swapped out like chocolate milk for coconut milk, and I also swapped out french fries for sweet potato fries And I'm moving on to some workouts.

This is some real-life footage of me at the gym So to be completely honest, and I hate going to the gym. I said it. I don't like it It's boring, and it makes me feel super awkward when someone else is in there And I feel like I don't know how to use the machines And I'm guessing that because I don't like going in the gym. I used to dread working out even though like the working out part Isn't the part I hate.

It was the gym part. So for me personally I like working out in my lounge room and my comfy clothes So, if you guys aren't getting active and you really just like wanna kick start it Then totally start by just doing things you love like dancing or running or just like playing soccer with your friends. Moving on I'd really recommend just and grabbing yourself a piece of paper or a planner or a diary Just so you can jot down the workouts you want to do so you can track them to make sure you're getting them done I used to do this thing let me know if you guys ever do it But I would always say I can't work out because I don't feel motivated to do it and then I try and wait to be Motivated and I would just never get motivated, so I never worked out. Anyone else? Having a planner though makes me feel way more inspired to get out of bed and like stop eating french fries for breakfast? But I find having the planner there with all my workouts already written down.

It makes me feel so much more inspired Okay, so a super easy lazy person Fitness life hack is every single time you guys walk out of the bathroom do 25 star jumps to get a little more exercise in it looks super weird, but it's fun So comment down below your favorite Unhealthy food. I feel like my favorite would have to be chocolate or ice cream and like they're pretty unhealthy But I feel like this DIY recipe Kinda could substitute as both like maybe But basically all you do is take some yogurt in a ziplock bag and just like pipe it out onto a piece of baking paper Freeze the yogurt overnight and then BAM you have like frozen yogurt little chips that kind of like chocolate chips But like without the chocolate and there so good you guys, I could literally snack on these all day. They're so good Let's be real sometimes the hardest part of working out is just like not knowing What to do, where to start, what part of your body to work out. But I found this really easy DIY on Pinterest and basically you just take some paddle-pop sticks Dump them in to three different colors of paint so each color of paint Represents a different part of your body that you'll be working out.

Once You've got your paint dry you just want to take a Sharpie or a texture or a pen and just start writing out different workouts that you like doing I'll put a bunch of exercises on The screen for you guys, but my blue sticks were for abs and some of my exercises were planks and sit ups and leg raises Currently judging my former self like my grade 7 self because I know that in high school I like skipped breakfast for a week straight because I felt like that was a cool thing to do and I remember I was so Starving and now I like wake up for breakfast in the morning like honestly Breakfast may be one of the only reasons I get out of bed in the morning but breakfast is super important and especially if you're trying To work out during the day you want to have a boost in energy as soon as you wake up And I ain't gonna lie I find eating toast for breakfast in the morning is so boring But it's really quick and easy but if you guys also want a quick and easy breakfast option this fruit bowl is literally four ingredients and it tastes so bomb I honestly think you could make it quicker than you can make a piece of toast So yes probably you know but I make a playlist for like every single occasion and I truly believe that making a playlist Especially for working out is essential. The songs I listen to when I'm working out versus the songs I listen to on a regular day are so different You don't want to be listening to like slow music when you're trying to like run on the treadmill because you'll probably just turn into Like a potato and just stand still. So when you're making your workout playlist Definitely consider fast pace on this just so you can like you get your heart pumping And you can really get in it to your workout And I know that you guys have heard like a million times How important it is to drink water and I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere recently that the human body is made up of like 60% water which is insane it is so important to stay hydrated especially if you sweat it out in the gym And I know a bunch of people who really don't like the taste of water So you guys don't like the taste of water then you can also try Infusing your water with like berries or lemons just to make sure you're still drinking as much water as possible And of course don't forget You do not need super expensive gym equipment to get out and get active you can literally just head outside Into your neighborhood and go for jog or literally just get a skipping rope and go skipping and it's so much fun I also read recently that going outside can help with stress relief so if you're a person that gets stressed out head outside So that's it for this video Hopefully guys liked it give it a thumbs up if you guys did and don't forget to comment down below letting me know if you Guys have any new year's resolution, and I'll see you guys in my next video, bye!.

5 Healthy Breakfast Smoothies!

5 Healthy Breakfast Smoothies!
Breakfast is the
most important meal of the day so get started on the right foot with these five incredible
smoothie recipes. (Upbeat music) So, to get started I'm going to share just a couple tips to
make your smoothie making run smoothly, right? First up, you want to use frozen fruit. Now, the reason is you don't
want to be watering down your smoothie with a whole bunch of ice. So, freeze your fruit yourself.

I like to freeze my fruit in a single layer on a baking sheet. This prevents it from all
clumping and sticking together. Next, when it comes to using your blender be sure to add your liquid
first near the blades. That's gonna help your blender
run a little more smoothly.

Finally, don't be afraid to
prepackage your smoothies and leave them in the freezer. These are great 'cause all
you need to do in the morning is roll out of bed, pour
these into your blender with a little bit of yogurt and some juice and you're off to the races. Breakfast is served. I love this sunny tropical yellow smoothie to start off my week.

It's perfect for a gloomy
Monday to get you going. So, we're gonna start with a
half a cup of pineapple juice. Now, if you don't have pineapple juice, it's fine, you could also use orange juice or even almond milk in this
recipe would work just as well. To that, we're going to add
a half a cup of Greek yogurt.

This is going to add a little bit of much needed protein into our smoothie then we're gonna top it
with some tasty fruits like some frozen pineapple, some mango, and some tasty banana. Finally, we're gonna
hit it with a little bit of grated ginger just to liven it all up and press blend. Monday morning breakfast, taken care of. (Upbeat music) I call this my Orange your glad it's not Monday anymore Tuesday smoothie.

We're starting with some
orange juice, about half a cup. To that we're gonna add about a half a cup of Greek yogurt for protein, one peeled orange frozen, half a peach, also peeled and frozen, and finally, one shredded carrot. I love sneaking vegetables
into these smoothies when nobody's looking. They'll never even taste it.

Come hump day, I'm ready for something bright and beautiful like
this ruby reb smoothie that features watermelon and strawberries and fresh raspberries. It's absolutely delicious. We're going to mix is up with
a little bit of almond milk and some Greek yogurt. I'm using vanilla flavored
Greek yogurt for this recipe and boom, there's breakfast baby.

(Upbeat music) By the time Thursday rolls around you're stressed out to the max or at least I know I am. What better way to start your day than with a whole lot
of antioxidant goodness? This purple smoothie is so delicious and features some of these
most antioxidant rich foods. Into our blender we are adding a half a cup of pomegranate juice. If you don't have pomegranate juice, cranberry juice will also work.

Then we are going to add some
vanilla flavored Greek yogurt. We've got some frozen blueberries and frozen blackberries and even some beautiful freshly pitted cherries. When they're in season, buy a whole ton, pit them and then freeze
them so you can use them all year long. Ladies and gentleman, congratulations.

You made it to Friday. Now, in order to prepare for the epic night you have ahead of you, probably best to get some
greens into us early. So, I'm gonna show you my tasty Friday green goodness smoothie. All right, so it starts with
about a half a cup of OJ, half a cup of vanilla
flavored Greek yogurt, to that we are going to add
two peeled and frozen kiwis, and then a whole avocado.

Trust me on this one, it's gonna add some creaminess and some texture. You're going to absolutely love it. Now, believe it or not
you can freeze avocados. You'll never be able to eat it on its own again but it is great in smoothies.

And then we're gonna
add a handful of greens and you won't even taste them because of this beautiful kiwi. Also, keep in mind that smoothies are an excellent place to improvise. So, once you've got
these basic recipes down you can add all sorts of things to them like protein powder or
hemp seeds or chia seeds. Any kind of greens,
you can sneak those in.

You won't even know they're there. These are incredibly delicious and packed full of nutrients. I hope you'll give them a try
and let me know how it goes. Be sure to tweet me or
instagram me a photo of what you come up with
in your own kitchen.

I love hearing from you. And be sure to subscribe
for more great recipes just like these. Happy Monday, Happy Tuesday, Happy Wednesday, Happy
Thursday, Happy Friday. And come Saturday it's
time for eggs benedict.

I have a video for that too..

3 Habits of a Healthy HeartPastor Steven Furtick

3 Habits of
I shared a teaching with our staff about two
months ago. I came in and taught this teaching called
Three Habits of a Healthy Heart. Several of them said, "You need to share that
with the church," and I couldn't find a good weekend to share it because of all of the
scheduling. Well, when I realized we would have to postpone
our series for a week, I thought, "This is the time." This is the window for me to share this with
you.

So I want to teach you a little bit today. This
teaching is going to require your full attention, and I don't just mean with your mind. I mean your emotional attention. While I get set up here to teach you today
Three Habits of a Healthy Heart, how many know real lasting change has to happen in
your heart? It can't just be in your behavior.

You really have to fundamentally change your
belief. That's what the psalmist is talking about
in Psalm 119:112. There aren't many chapters in the Bible that
have 112 verses. I think Psalm 119 is on record as the longest
chapter in the Bible.

It's constructed grammatically in a specific
way that we won't go into in this class. I want to teach a little bit today, if that's
all right. Is it all right if I don't even shout or holler
or anything? If you wanted to hear me holler, you should
have come to the praise party. We had an amazing time saying, "Good morning,
midnight." We welcomed not only a new year but we also
welcomed our challenges this year, knowing that often our calling is contained in our
challenges, if we learn how to see it correctly.

Everything begins with perspective. The perspective of the psalmist in Psalm 119
is kind of all over the place. I think he's dealing with some inner issues. Getting beyond the grammar of the psalm, we
can know a little bit of the intention of it.

The psalmist says in verse 112, "I incline
my heart to perform your statutes forever, to the end." I want this to last. I don't just want to see some changes in my
life for a few weeks in January. I didn't hand them my gym membership and sign
up for a year just to be eating chocolate by Valentine's Day. I want to see some lasting change in my life
this year.

The psalmist said, "I incline my heart." It has to happen within. Not just the behavior, but the belief that
drives the behavior has to change or the change won't stay. We've found this out over and over again. Every new year we learn it again.

Lasting change is what I'm after, and I incline
my heart. That's an interesting choice of words. If you incline something, that means it was
naturally not in that position. That means you had to act upon it in order
to orient it in a different direction.

Right? We don't incline something that's already
upright. It must have meant his heart was declined. The problem with a lot of us is we go through
life reclined. However we wake up, that's how we stay.

However we feel, that's how we act. The psalmist said, "I act upon my attitude,
and I incline my heart." Did you know you're in charge of your heart? Quit saying people broke your heart. They can't break it if you don't give it to
them. He said, "I'm setting my heart in the direction
of heaven." I wonder, is your heart set in a divine direction
today? Incline my heart.

I don't think this is something you do one
time. You just inclined your heart to God when you
were 12 at summer Bible camp and you never were tempted again. I think we want it to be that way. I want it to be like the infomercial.

Do you remember the infomercial with the Showtime
rotisserie oven? The man said, "Set it and forget it." That's how I want my heart to be, like that
infomercial. Set it and forget it. I want my heart to just stay there, you know. "Hey, I went to church the first Sunday in
January.

That ought to get me by. I set it." The psalmist said it's not enough to set it
and forget it. He said it's more like you set it, you check
it, you reset it, you check it, because all through your day and all through your year,
your heart is going to be tempted to decline to a default position. Maybe it's a default position of discouragement
or despair or dysfunction, but when you take charge of your heart...

That's what the writer of Proverbs said. It's not just the psalmist who did it. The writer of Proverbs said, "Guard your heart." It's your heart, and that's where the issues
of life flow from. Before we can get the windows working, we
have to get our hearts open.

Hey man, the doctor was fussing at me a couple
of months ago about my cholesterol. It lets me know I'm getting on up there in
age. I've never had a conversation like this with
a doctor before. He's just talking and talking.

Blah, blah, blah. LDL, HDL, triglycerides, all this stuff. I know he could tell he wasn't getting through
to me, because he took a really drastic turn. He said, "Hey! I don't want you to be one of those guys who
looks really fit on the outside," which made me feel happy that he said that about me,
"but then one day you're just outside running and you just fall over of a heart attack.

You need to listen to me." I corrected him. I said, "Doctor, I know you have some degrees
that I don't have and all that, but you're wrong about that. I don't run. So if I fall over, it's not going to be on
cardio." He said, "You can be blocked on the inside
and look good on the outside." You can be successful and fall over, be sexy
and fall over, be married and fall over, get a promotion and fall over, be religious and
fall over.

It has to happen in the heart. But it doesn't start with the heart; it starts
with the habits. Your habits create the condition of your heart. I feel like God is going to help somebody
set your heart on things above, get your heart set in the right direction, but it's going
to require some habits.

They're all right there in the psalm. I want to read you the next two verses, because
my three habits are right there in the verses. "I set my heart to perform your statutes forever,
to the end. I hate..." What's that word doing in the Bible? I thought we were supposed to love everything.

"I hate the double-minded, but I love your
law." I don't think we should go on until we talk
about that. He said, "I hate this. I hate the double-minded." That's not a person I hate; it's I hate the
condition of double-mindedness. I hate it.

See, the thing about hate is hate is the most
powerful motivation to change, not love. Before you start with wanting to reach your
goals, maybe the first thing for you to do is to make a decision about some things you
hate. It's going to be complicated, because for
me, I have a love/hate relationship with some of the things. I feel kind of like David.

One time David's son Absalom died, and Joab
came to him and said, "Your son is dead," and David started weeping. Joab was mad, because Absalom was trying to
take the throne from David. Absalom had become David's enemy, but David's
heart was connected to Absalom, so he was crying. Joab said, "You need to get it together.

You hate those who love you, and you love
those who hate you. You hate what's trying to deliver you, and
you love what's trying to destroy you." I feel that way about certain things in my
life, certain actions, certain behaviors in my life. I love how they feel for a minute, but I hate
the crash. Certain things in my life, I hate how they
feel when I'm doing them.

I hate the plank. Exhibit A. For years, I was one of these people... I would tell you to your face, "I hate to
exercise." You can go back and watch my sermon videos
from three years ago.

I would stand on the stage and say, "I hate
to exercise." Do you know why I hated it? Because it wasn't a habit. I didn't do it enough to love it. I hated it. But you don't have to accept your default
attitude toward anything.

I incline my heart. The moment of realization for me was when
I was paying my tailor $450 to come over to my house and let my pants out. I hated it. I looked at him and said, "I hate this, man.

I could be using this money to buy new clothes,
and I'm paying it to you to make my clothes bigger. I hate this." He said, "Hey, keep eating. It's job security for me." That's what my tailor said. I said, "No, man.

I hate this. I hate this feeling." Sometimes before you can make a change you
have to be motivated by... I know it's a strong word. It's not very pastoral.

You have to hate it. You have to hate self-pity. The problem with hating self-pity is it feels
good like a bag of Doritos on your tongue. See, it's not that I hate the taste of Doritos.

I just hated what it did to my waist. He said, "I hate the double-minded. I love your law." Before I can do what I love, I have to know
what to hate. I hate this.

I love what it does for me, but I hate what
it does to me. It's a complicated relationship. A bag of Doritos does something for me. It might not do anything for you.

It does something for me. I have a long-standing relationship with carbohydrates. They have been there for me. In the midnight hour, when I couldn't call
on anybody else, I could call on chocolate.

So I love it. I love what it does for me, but I hate what
it does to me. I hate all this. I hate anger.

It makes me feel good. It even gets me some results. I have a complicated relationship with anger. If you get mad enough, you can get people
to do what you want, but then you're all alone after they do it.

Nobody wants to be with you. I hate being angry, because I hate being alone. I hate the outcome of this and that. I hate what it does to my marriage.

I hate what it does to my relationships. I hate how it disturbs my inner peace and
puts me in a state of turmoil. It's complicated. It's a complicated relationship that I have
with complaining.

I love to complain. Ooh, I love to tell somebody. You can look at me. "Well, the Bible says don't do it." The Bible says don't do it, but it doesn't
say it doesn't feel good.

It feels really good to complain. It feels like a choice morsel going down as
it's coming out of your mouth. Just to unload on them. When somebody says, "How are you doing?" Just
let them know for five minutes every ache, every pain, every disappointment, every struggle.

But guess what? The next time they see you coming, they're
going the other way. It's the law of diminishing returns. It gets you high for a minute. I love to talk bad about people.

I do. I shouldn't say these things. I tell myself every week after I finish on
Sunday when I'm watching back my sermon, "Furtick, don't say stuff like that. People put it on YouTube and use it against
you as a weapon." I just have to tell you I love...

It makes me feel really good about my dysfunction
to spend a little time discussing yours. I love to talk about other people's dumb decisions. I love it. It's a natural high, because if I can get
you down here, then I feel like I'm right here.

The only problem is I'm setting myself up
for decline. Now the next time I see you I can't treat
you better than I talk about you, so it ruins my relationships. I love what it does for me. It does something for me.

Come on, how many will admit it does something
for you to talk about what Henry did and what Suzie wore and what they should have done
and what their kids are like? But by the same measure you judge you will
be judged. I love the taste, but I hate the outcome. I hate it. The problem with a lot of our resolutions
for change is that they are not motivated by a healthy kind of hate.

There is a healthy way to hate. I hate racism. I hate poverty. That's the only thing that will motivate me
to do anything about it.

I have to hate it. I hate bullying. I was bullied. Tony Wigfall jacked me up against the wall.

I still remember my head cracking against
the wall and my friend Hamilton looking at me, saying, "Don't look at me, man." I still remember the view from up there. I can't see somebody being picked on without
seeing myself from up there, just wondering, "Is this guy going to break my face?" I hate it. Holly said to me the other day, "I hate being
late." Notice she didn't say, "I love being early,"
because she doesn't. You have to get to the point...

We were going to see somebody. She said, "I don't want to walk in like that." Until you hate being late more than you love
hitting "snooze," you won't make the change. Get that thing on your mind, that bag of Doritos,
and say, "I hate it." I hate the double-minded. I hate indecision.

I hate it. I'd rather make a bad decision than make no
decision. I hate procrastination. I did it a lot, but I finally got to the point
where I hate it.

I hate the discipline of preparation too,
but I hate the pain of procrastination more than I hate... I actually said to somebody the other day,
"I never thought I'd hear myself say this, and I used to hate people who said this. I think I like exercise. After three years of doing it five days a
week and finding out what works for me, I.

Think I'm one of those people I used to roll
my eyes at. I think I like to exercise. I think I've reset my heart." I declare reset. There are some things in your life that have
been on the decline, but God brought you to church on the first weekend of the year, and
you're setting your heart in a different direction.

You're going to love the presence of God this
year. You're going to love the Word of God this
year. You're going to love the right things this
year. Train your brain to hate it.

I know that's what my dad was trying to do
when he made us eat all the food on our plate when we overfilled it at Ryan's Buffet. Vacation memories. He said, "You're going to eat every bite on
that plate." My brother and I took turns causing diversions
while the other one stuffed our pockets. We walked out of Ryan's with pockets full
of food.

I'll never forget it. He wanted me to have an association. He said, "I want you to hate waste." Maybe that's why sometimes God lets us get
so low: so I'll hate it, so I will despise Egypt, because if I didn't despise it I would
be tempted to go back. "I hate the double-minded, and I love your
law." I know what to hate, and (this is healthy
habit #2) I know where to hide.

Do you know where to hide? You'd better. The attacks are going to come and the missiles
are going to fly and the doubts and discouraging thoughts are going to try to set your heart
on the decline, get you off track, take you back where you've been, keep you stuck from
moving forward. Do you know where to hide when discouragement
comes flying past your head, or do you run to the same enemy that is attacking you in
an effort to hide? I'm not talking about physical places. The hiding places we create that destroy us
are usually the ones in our hearts, emotional states.

He said, "You are my hiding place, Lord. You are my shield." That's a powerful thought. Look at what he says. "You are my hiding place and my shield..." When attacks come, I've learned where to run.

The reason I'm moving forward in my life this
year isn't because I won't be attacked. It's because I know what to run to when I
am. The expectation of no attack is a setup for
disappointment, but the psalmist said, "I. Set myself up for success, because I designated
in advance where I would hide when the attack came." You can't find the place to hide once the attack
starts.

I'm going to teach more on this in the weeks
to come. Are you coming back for the series? When I say this series is something worth
canceling your life to make sure you don't miss, I mean it. What God has shown me is so explosive I think
it might even be my next book. I don't even want to write another book, but
it's so strong I think I might have to.

I'm going to teach you in this about the power
of making decisions and sticking with them. I'm not going back there. I'm not running to that. I can't ask God to protect me from the enemy
I'm running to.

Where do you hide when it gets hard? You'd better set it up in advance. I'm running to the places where there's real
protection, not the illusion of protection. Some of us hide in places that seem safe. He said, "You are my hiding place." Elijah went and hid in a cave because it seemed
safe.

It was far away from Jezebel, and she was
threatening his very life. This is an Old Testament story that's worth
reading if you haven't read it. The whisper of God came into the cave as Elijah
ran from his calling. Are you running from the conflict or are you
running into the conflict? The place of conflict is the place of calling,
but you have to be comfortable hiding in the midst of hardships to know that God is your
refuge, your strong tower in the battle, not from it.

Elijah ran south as far as he could go. He went in a cave and spent the night, and
the voice of the Lord went in the cave and said, "What are you doing here, Elijah? Why are you hiding here? Why would you choose to hide in the place
that would keep you confined when your calling is out there? Did I not protect you on Mount Carmel? Did I not send down fire from heaven?" You can hide in plain sight when you trust
in the goodness of God. "I will see the goodness of the Lord in the
land of the living," but I won't experience life in dead places. I have to know where to hide.

One of the staff members who heard this teaching
when I taught it to the staff (and to be honest with you, I'm teaching it better to you than
I taught it to them; I've had some practice now)... She said her hiding place is blame. She said, "When I'm confronted with a need
to change, I hide behind blame." When we were picturing our hiding places,
because I had all of the staff members... I could have you do this, but I don't want
to embarrass you, and you might be a first-time guest.

I had them turn to each other and say what
their hiding place was, and they went deep. Some of them said, "Porn." Some of them said, "Eating." Some of them said, "Destructive thought patterns." Some of them said this, and some of them said
that, but they all had a hiding place. Everybody in here has a hiding place. In fact, you have multiple hiding places.

She said her hiding place is blame. Something goes wrong. "Well, if the kids hadn't... Well, if the car hadn't..." Blame.

It's a convenient hiding place, because it
will shield you from the inconvenience of change. If it's somebody else who needs to change... It's a convenient hiding place...For a little
while, but it's a papier mch shield. It can only keep you from so much.

She said, "I blame. I blame everybody. I blame everything. I blame the way I was raised.

I blame my parents for being too hard on me,
and then I blame them for being too easy on me. I blame them if they would have made me stick
with piano lessons, and then I blame them that they made me show up to choir practice." "I blame what I did get. I blame what I didn't get." Blame was her hiding place. What's yours? Elijah had a cave.

She had blame. I wonder, do you hide behind low expectations? This one is really common. If you don't expect much, you can't be disappointed. You learn how to hide behind this fake smile.

You don't really have a whole heart. You have a fake smile to cover up your half-hearted
interior life. We hide ourselves from even those closest
to us. We hide ourselves, because if I hide behind
an image I present, I don't have to deal with who I am.

The call of God is coming forth like the voice
of the Lord went into the cave. The voice of the Lord is coming into your
heart today, saying, "Come out. Come out of hiding. Come out of fear.

Come out of low expectations. Come out of hypocrisy. Come out from this fake spirituality. Come out, come out wherever you are." When you hide in the shadow of the Most High, you can abide under the shadow
of the Almighty.

I have a shelter. I don't have to hide behind anything but God. I'm glad it snowed so I could preach this
message. This is going to open your heart.

What good will it do for the windows of heaven
to be opened if your heart is blocked? You have to know where to hide or you'll be
running, doing your thing this year, and just collapse, the doctor said, because you didn't
know where to hide. I know where to hide. I don't always do it, but I know where, and
that's a start. I know where to hide.

My kids were playing hide-and-seek one time,
and they got locked in the crawl space. That's what you don't want to do. Sometimes it's like that. You're running from something, thinking you're
hiding, but you end up locking yourself...

You can lock yourself in a pattern and an
attitude in an effort to escape something, and what you get locked in is worse than what
you were running from. You need a better hiding place. You have to hide somewhere. So memorize some songs, the little songs you
like, the little songs we sing in the church.

You can sing them other than Sunday. "The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run into it." You might have to sing in the shower to incline
your heart to keep his commands. You might have to hide in a different place.

Where else are you going to hide? Are you going to hide in feeling sorry for
yourself? Are you going to hide in enemy-held territory
and expect to be safe there? I know where to hide. I know how to say, "I love you, Lord, and
I lift my voice to worship you, O my soul, rejoice. Take joy, my King..." This is an old song, but it will still work
to run the Devil off when he starts messing with you in the middle of the night. "...In what you hear.

May it be a sweet, sweet sound in your ear." I can sing when I'm squeezed. I can sing when I'm pressed. I can rejoice, hit reset on my heart. "I set my heart to keep your commands." We're hitting reset.

I want you to picture yourself playing Nintendo,
and you hit "Reset." You're about to have to start over all your
progress, and you hit "Reset." The psalmist said, "I know where to go to
reset my heart. It's not that the missiles never fly. I've just learned how to duck, and I know
where to hide. I've pointed my heart in the direction of
my destiny.

I know where to hide, I know what to hate,
and my heart knows how to hope." I want you to stand up if you have hope. It's good to have hope. I preached a whole Christmas sermon on we
have this hope. I hope everybody at every location is standing
up because you have hope.

The psalmist doesn't say in this particular
instance, "I have hope." He says, "I hope." I'm not sure if I learned this in third-grade
English or fourth, but when he says, "I hope" instead of saying, "I have hope," that makes
it a verb and not a noun. Can any English teachers verify what I just
said? It's not just something I have; it's something
I do. It's an active hope. You cannot go into another year of your life
hoping it gets better.

Like the lady I sat next to on the plane. She said, "Here's my philosophy. Hope for the best; expect the worst." That's clever, but it's crap. Hope doesn't just wish it would.

I tell you what. If you don't know how to hope, if you think
hope is just... When we say, "I hope in your word," that's
not a bookmark in your Bible that you look at every once in a while, or something on
your coffee mug. It is a way of living.

I hope. Not just I wish; I hope. What does hope do? Hope puts its hand to work. Hope, not just in my heart.

Have you put your hand to what you're hoping
for? "Faith is the substance of things hoped for
and the evidence of things not seen." God wants to open your heart this new year
to possibility, but you're going to have to put your hand to what you're hoping for. In other words, you have to work your window. I don't hope it's not cold. I wear a coat.

When I was leaving for church this weekend,
Elijah said, "Daddy, it's going to be great." He said, "It's going to be record attendance." I said, "No, it's not." He said, "Yes, it is, Daddy. Have a little faith. Practice what you preach." I said, "Boy, let me teach you a little lesson
about church growth and hope. Some of my campuses have to be closed, so
it can't be record attendance, and Charlotte people are kind of crazy anyway." Not y'all, but some people watching online.

I said, "My hope isn't that the rooms are
going to be full. My hope is that God is going to show up and
speak to whoever comes." That's how I hope. I don't hope it's not cold; I put on a coat
and go outside anyway. I don't hope it's not hard; I charge the hill.

My hope is not in the path; my hope is in
the promise. The path can look like this, but I'm still
headed to the promise. "I hope in your word." How many received something from the Lord
today? Do you feel your heart opening up? You can feel it. You can feel God doing something.

This is going to be an amazing year, church. If I were you, I wouldn't miss the window. Next weekend, I'm really going to start the
series this time: Work Your Window. But I feel like today was a little WD-40 on
the hinges.

We have the window cracked. We have our hearts open. If you feel comfortable... I don't know if you do or not.

Would you just lift your hands to the Lord
to receive what he has for you? Hope in your word. Hope in your promise. Thank you for your presence, Lord. I thank you for the expectation of change.

We incline our hearts. We're set up for success. The windows of heaven are open, and so are
our hearts. We won't be blocked.

We've set our hearts, and we'll set them again
and again and again. "I will bless the Lord at all times, and his
praise shall continually be in my mouth.".
